Lovebird - scratching?

by suz
(new delhi, india)

My peachfaced lovebird appears to be happy and healthy apart from she scratches quite a lot. Other than that she is chirpy and active. Her feathers appear slightly dull.

I am new to living with lovebirds, any help gratefully appreciated.

:) Suz

Bird scratching and dull feathers
by: Tracie

Dull feathers are a sign of poor nutrition. I do not know what food is available for birds there in India. The scratching could be due to a molt, allergy and numerous other things. The only way to know if your bird is healthy, is to take it to an avian vet for yearly check ups.
