Unless you are planning on breeding them in the future, it does not matter at all. If the female lays any eggs, take them and throw them away to keep birds from eating them and becoming poisoned. Eggs go bad quickly, and birds will become poisoned when or if they eat some of the contents.

If you ARE thinking of breeding later, then you will need another mate for each bird as you CANNOT BREED A BROTHER AND SISTER, A MOTHER AND SON OR A FATHER AND DAUGHTER. All resulting baby birds will be physically and/or mentally compromised in some way or another as this is too close blood breeding and is called inbreeding.Inbreeding weakens any genetic strain to the point of major physical and mental disabilities and is just not done with any birds or animals to prevent this happening.

Thanks for writing,
Linda
