Lump in throat

Hi, I have a 2 year old Quaker Parrot and I've recently noticed that the curved part in the front of her throat seems to be swollen. I was wondering if anyone knows what could be causing this, or if this is just a normal part of a birds anatomy. The tempermant seems to be the same, and she's eating, but a little less than normal.

Lump in bird's throat
by: Tracie

It is possible that you are seeing the crop. If the "lump" goes up and down depending on if the bird recently ate, then that is likely what it is.

If there is any doubt that this might be a tumor or something, please take your bird to an avian vet for an examination.
