My blue and gold macaw chew on his ankles constantly. We have only had him 2 weeks. He is about 6 years old. Is this normal?

Macaw chewing at ankles

No, this is not normal behavior. He could be allergic to something you are feeding him, or something else. If your bird is not eating a healthy pellet diet, like Harrison's or Roudybush, then please read our Switching Birds To Pellets article for help with that.

I suggest that you Find an Avian Vet if your bird has not had a check up in the last year.
