For young birds, the only way is to have DNA testing done. Your bird or birds will need to be taken to an Avian Vet who will draw the material for the DNA tests and then send them to a lab who does this kind of testing.

For older birds, you will see different behavior with the male and female. Female may also lay an egg. Male will be the one to do most or all of the singing. This is for older birds only as young ones pretty much act the same.
