Male Budgie Taking Over. Hurting the Female

by Mikayla
(Orange Park,Florida, USA)

My Male budgie is becoming really aggressive. I put a new perch in the cage and if the female ever touches it he freaks out and attacks her. She screams and i feel awful. I've tried my hardest to scold him so he might acknowledge that what he is doing is wrong. I don't have another cage but I don't want to get rid of him. He can be sweet and she has company when I am away.He has been bitting at her feet and when she peened them last week they started to bleed. I didn't realize it might be him. I think he also made 1 of her flight feathers bend while they were fighting so there is one feather sticking out and when I tried to touch it she bit me. I feel horrible! :(

Please help!
Thank you!

Male bird attacking female bird
by: Tracie

You just need to put them in separate cages. Birds are birds, you can't take them for counseling. If one bird attacks another bird, you just put them in separate cages. You can't make them like each other.
