Male finch seems stressed so we separated parents from babies

Baby finches are about a month old, eating on their own. The father was sleet and a little puffy but still eating and drinking. We thought he was a little stressed wept the babies in a new cage and left him with the mom. Now we are worried the babies can find their food and water?? They did not sleep in their nest last night either. Should we put them all back together? I'm also worried about the male. Would appreciate any advise.

Take the male out and put him into the cage by himself. Put the babies back with their mother until you see them eating and drinking without her having to feed them.

If your male bird is sick, then all your birds are sick, so take him to Avian Vet if he is showing signs of illness. The babies will die from infections at this young age.

Thanks for writing,
Linda
