Male Jenday Conure is plucking his feathers

Hi can anyone tell me why my male jenay conure is plucking his feathers out. A suggestion from a pet shop is it's mating season...is that true?

No, that is not true. Birds pluck due to internal problems, like infections or allergies, because they are nervous or upset and things like that.

Please read our Feather Damaging Behavior article written by an avian vet for more information. It is suggested that you take your bird to an avian vet to make sure that your bird does not have a health issue causing this behavior.
