Mexican Redhead seizure?

I have a Mexican Redhead who is about 26 years old. Today when I was feeding him, he fell flat on his back to the bottom of his cage. His eyes rolled back, his legs straightened out and his breathing appeared to have almost stopped. I thought that he had went into cardiac arrest and was dying right in front of me.

A few minutes later, his eyes rolled back and he appeared to come out of what I now thought was a seizure. In my 26 years with my "Chuckie", I have never witnessed such a heart breaking incident. Can this be because of his age or some other disorder or disease? Please help. I don't want to witness this ever again.

Take bird to Avian Vet
by: Tracie

The only way you can find out what is going on is to take your bird to an Avian Vet. You don't want to treat something you don't know for sure is wrong and ignore the real problem. So you need the vet to run tests to determine what needs to be done ASAP.
