molting or feather disease

I have a female quaker bird and yesterday adn the day before yesterday she seemed to lose her feather by her ears and now there all gone on both sides of her faces but i see white looking feather things coming in. she also has a bald spot on top of her head. she seems to eat well and the rest of her feathers on her body are looking good. i dont know whats going on with her.

Bird molting or has feather disease

Bald spots indicate disease or other health issues, but if hard white feather shafts are coming in, that is what happens during a molt.

If her head actually has a bald spot, and there is not another bird there that might be plucking her, then this is something the must be looked at by an avian vet.
