Mucus production in Galah

by Rowena

I have an 8yo Galah. I noticed yesteday morning he had mucus around his mouth. I wiped it off and he appeared to be eating and behaving as normal through the day and evening. This morning it was the same but more.

He is currently in his outside cage chirping and chatting away to the wild galahs as he always does, still eating and behaving as normal but have noticed a bit of a mucusy (is that even a word???) poo. Any suggestions greatly appreciated as we live a long way from the nearest town with a vet and no avian specialist. Many Thanks

These symptoms can be caused by in infection, toxin ingestion, nausea and other possibilities. He really needs to be seen by an veterinarian familiar with birds.
