Ringneck diet
by: Anonymous

Your bird is young, there's alot to explore and allot to try out. Keep offering the other foods with the ones she likes. Pretend to eat a slice of apple, then hand it to her. Might have to repeat this a cpl times. Eventually she'll take to the other foods.

But, a pellet diet is always the best for a bird. In the Mornings, I offer a small amt of fruit, at breakfast, evenings at dinner time I offer veggies. I always offer the food when we sit down to eat. Birds are social eaters, if they see you eat, they want to eat too.

My bird wants to eat everything I have. So I have to be careful of what i eat around her, bc she will take her share if not offered. Not all human foods are healthy for your bird.

Bird eating pellets, corn and peas
by: Tracie

Yes, just make sure your parrot is eating 80% high quality pellets, not colored pellets or high sugar and chemical pellets. Our avian vet suggests Harrison's or Roudybush pellets.

It make sure your parrot is eating enough pellets, just provide pellets in the morning through late afternoon or until the bird has eaten most of it's pellets. Just like kids, they will fill up on what they like and not what is good for them if we allow them to.
