What could be a reason why my 7 month old sun conure died? I am completely in awe

lost mine to had a blue ring neck who was hand feed brought him home past the next day. i don't understand either. i thiught about the time of day i brought him home, i just don't know. sorry for your loss

I am sorry for your loss. It could be any number of things. You can take the bird for a necropsy to determine the cause of death.

If you did not take the bird to an avian vet before bringing the bird home, it could have died from a disease or infection. Many birds are raised in terrible environments and then sent to pet stores to sit with other sick birds.

It could have been something toxic in the environment. If you allowed your bird to roam the house, it could have chewed something toxic. If you use Teflon irons, ovens or pans, it could have died from the fumes. There are many other toxic items that you can have in the air or feed the bird.

Please look at our Toxic / Non-toxic for birds list before bringing another bird home. Also, make sure you Find an Avian Vet to examine your next bird and clean the cage the previous bird died in with a safe cleaner like Pet Focus to kill any potential virus that the other bird may have had.
