my alexandrine parakeet

Can you help? (Alexandrine Parakeet)

my alexandrine parakeet has not been acting normal for a week, now. I brought him to the avain vet and they did nothing to help, except prescribe an antibiotic. Has anyone encountered these symptoms in their bird. Help!!!!

He started puffing up and his droppings were a bright shade of green. We took him to the vet. They examined him said his heart and lungs were strong and his eyes were clear. We brought him home and he continues to puff up and keeps sleeping. He appears to be weak and is breathing in an unusal manner. He is eating. But he isn't very active like he normally would be. Can anybody tell me if they have seen this?

If the avian vet did not run any diagnostic tests before prescribing an antibiotic, then you need to Find another Avian Vet for your bird.

If you have a diagnosis and did not share that, then you need to contact your avian vet and tell them the antibiotic is not working or what has or has not improved since the bird started the treatment.

Nobody can tell you what is wrong with your bird over the Internet, tests need to be run to determine if it is a bacterial infection or what.
