My Yellow Head Amazon legs might have fungus
by: Sandra D Singh

Hi there, if your Amazon bites off the skin of his legs and it bleeds you should get him to an Avian Vet "immediately".
This is not good and can cause other problems occur for your bird. Obviously there's a problem with his foot and it's bothering and itching him so he bites the skin off to ease the discomfort he's having. Poor bird, please take him to an Avian Vet and immediately or he may lose his foot. Take care of him and God bless you both.

Amazon with possible fungus

You need an in person avian vet to run tests and prescribe the exact treatment needed depending on the test results. No avian vet can prescribe over the Internet.

Please use this Find an Avian Vet link to find an avian vet for your bird so it can be examined to determine what is wrong and what the potential treatment might be.

If you delay, trying this or that, then your bird will not only get worse, you may add new symptoms if the bird has a reaction to some over-the-counter treatment you tried and then the avian vet will have an even harder time getting your bird well.
