My baby parakeet has splayed legs
by: Anne

If you are unable to get to an Avian vet straight away Feed the chick baby Kaytee parrot feeding formula from a very small syringe. Go onto Kaytee web site this shows you the correct feeding procedure. For the legs use a small make up sponge put 2 slits each side slide to the middle of the sponge then bring the legs together.
Having said all this I hope you have been able to get to the Avian vets though & the Mummy has returned to feeding the chick.
It is vital you keep the chick warm look on the web sites for information while waiting to get to the vets.
Please let me know how things go.

Splay legged baby bird
by: Tracie

Please Find an Avian Vet to examine the bird and potentially splint the legs.

This often is due to improper nesting material. Our avian vet suggests Dri-Dek brooder bedding.
