My budgie stands in a V?

My budgie will just randomly come and stand on your finger, and curve her back into a complete V shape. She then puffs up her chest slightly and her pupils dilate to almost nothing. She is about five or so years old, is this a problem?

This does not sound normal, and you'll need to take your bird to an Avian Vet ONLY as they are the only vets who are licensed and trained to care for birds.

Please do not wait to take her to the avian vet because the "chirping happily" may be telling you she's in pain instead of happy.

She wants to mate

I've seen my female budgies do this when they want to mate. Look up mating vids on YouTube and see if she does the same thing as those female budgies. From what you describe, it look like it.

She also becomes really ridged when she does this, anad sometimes she'll chirp really happily, which makes us think its not serious, but its still really weird. :(
