Cockatiel fluffed and holding mouth open
by: Tracie

I am so sorry, but you need to get your bird to an avian vet asap. Sitting fluffed up and holding it's mouth open is a sign if illness. Birds hide illness until they are very sick, usually.

Let us know how it goes at the avian vet's office. Please do not take your bird to a regular vet, they often kill birds because they have not been trained to take care of birds. You can look for an avian vet on our Find an Avian Vet page if you need to find a vet.
