my cockatiel picking feathers

everytime after my cockatiel eats something (that isnt seeds) he picks at his feathers on his neck for about half an hour, is this an allergic reaction to human food?

Yes, is most likely is something like that. Please read the avian vet's Switching Birds To Pellets article and try to find some Harrison's or Roudybush pellets where you live.

Also, please read our Feather Damaging Behavior article written by our avian vet.
