My conure green cheek feathers are turning black?

Not sure if it is diet related or vitamin deficiency? I try to feed mixture pellets and seeds but no matter what I try to give veggies but he wants nothing to do with them apples occasionally wheat bread but that is it. I got another baby conure and she too seems like her feather color is changing. I just ordered a uv light from this site. Am I missing something? I am new to bird handling so would appreciate your input!

Diet is very important, and it would be good to change birds over to organic pellets like Harrisons. This change takes time, and below is a link on how to go about it safely written by an Avian Vet.

Before doing anything else other than the light, have both birds examined by an Avian Vet ONLY in your driving area. All new birds need to be examined for infections or other physical issues during the first week we have them. So, before making any changes in diet, have them examined because if they are sick, no dietary changes can be made.

Let us know what the Avian Vet has to say and take them to only an Avian vet to make sure they are correctly diagnosed and treated.
