lovebird noise

Is it a sort of clicking noise? Tail in the air, wings lifted, arches back and a clicking noise means your lovebird is female and wants to mate. All female lovebirds that I have had do this same thing. It's nothing to worry about.

My lovebird does this too when I show her a phone or my tv remote. It's a mating behavior. She lifts her tail because she is presenting for sex.

Weird noises when youre around
by: Anonymous

I noticed with my 2 female birds, that when my boyfriend is home, they will make different noises for him, that they do not do when I am there. Basically they've bonded with him, and they want his attn. They lift thier wings a bit, and kinda dance about a bit... spreading tail feathers. This is normal for a bird who is "Twitter-patted". My male bird, he does the same for me when I enter a room or when he hears my voice. Birds typically bond with an owner of the opposite sex, and that's one way they show thier affections.

I suggest to keep an eye on your birds eating habbits. If shes' doing this and not eating, then there could be a potential problem.

If you feel being "twitter-patted" isn't the case, and the bird sounds like it's in pain, then a vet should been seen immediately, as birds do not show or tell you when they are sick. They will just drop dead. A sick bird in the wild is considered easy pray, so they never show illness, this is hard programmed into your birds instincts for survival.

Please make sure you are taking your feathered friend into the avian vet at least once a year for a well visit. This prevents future illness, even death.
