My lovebird keeps shaking her tail feathers, biting at her butt and has seemed extra itchy.

Hello, My female lovebird who a little over one has been shaking her tail feathers, biting at her butt, and has appeared to be very itchy all over the past 3 days.

The male, who is in the same cage has been acting normal. Does the female's behavior seem like anything that I should be worried about?

Thank you for your time!

by: Cindy

Hi,

My Peach Fronted Conure is acting exactly the same way, it looks like something is biting him on his tail area.

We cleaned everything in his cage but nothin is changing, he is dead tired in the morning.

Take bird to the vet
by: Tracie

You need to take your bird to an avian vet to be physically examined. This is the only way your bird can get help, because a vet can not prescribe treatment without seeing the bird.
