My male cockatiel lost his voice

My male cockatiels voice is gone. He is not sick drinks and eats and walks normal. What happened to him, since yesterday?

There is something very wrong with your bird. Whether he has an infection or an obstruction either in the crop or throat would have to be determined by an Avian Vet in person in an exam. This is not normal and does not happen unless there is a very good reason.

Please get your bird to an Avian Vet right away because with this being a sudden onset, it could be life threatening. Eating and drinking is not necessarily a sign that all is well. Birds will eat and drink even when sick or injured.When they stop eating and drinking it says bird is very near death, so your bird is in need of an exam with a licensed and trained avian vet immediately.

There are many avian vets in California, so please get your bird examined so you know what is causing this and how best to fix it.
