my orange winged parrot frequently sneezes

Hi, I have a oranged winged parrot, (he or she) is nearly 12 years old. For a good few years now he sneezes, a few times every day. He doesn't seem ill, and certainly doesn't act as if he is ill, so i've never been concerned, but I am curious to know why he sneezes, no other symptoms. He still eats regularly and drinks, he's kept indoors in a warm environment so there's no draft around him. Any ideas? or is it simply a cold?
Thanks

Parrot sneezing frequently
by: The Avian Vet

This is an abnormal amount of sneezing. It could be a foreign body in the nasal cavity or sinuses, or irritation for dry air (humidity should be 50% or higher) and he needs regular showers, or it could be a subclinical infection, especially if your bird drinks from a dish and not a water bottle, or it could be allergies. I recommend that you have him examined by an avian veterinarian.
