my parakeet seems sick

my bird has been puffy a lot more than usual.her nose seems to be getting dryer and it is turning a brownish color.she drifts off to sleep randomly in the middle of the day a lot.she seems sick but im not sure.

The are symptoms of being sick. Dr B can not tell you if it is sick without examining your bird and possibly running tests. Please Find an Avian Vet for your bird to be seen in person.

In the mean time, keep your bird warm and out of drafts. You might move the perches to the lowest spot, with the food and water bottle handy, in case the bird falls off it's perch.

If your bird is not on a healthy pellet diet, like Harrison's or Roudybush then after the vet visit start working on Switching Birds To Pellets.

Another thought, if your bird drinks from a water dish, instead of a water bottle then it could have a bacterial infection from drinking or bathing in dirty water.
