My parakeets back toe is bent up

He has to shake it at times so he can get it straight to put it on the perch. Sometime he will not stand on it but most of the time he does. But even when he is on his foot the toe is bent up. I was wondering if you could tell me what is wrong with him and should I take him to the vet. Thank You.

My parakeet back toe is bent up

I got my bird almost a year ago and there was nothing ever to be wrong with him, so I was just played with my parakeet and all of a sudden, I saw his back toe was bent up and it has NEVER did that before, it shocked me. So all I want to know is if he has to be taken to a vetanarian.

Editor's note: You posted your question as an answer to another person's question so it is unlikely anyone will read it. Yes, you need to take your bird to see an avian vet.

You should take him into a veterinarian. It could be broken, dislocated, or may be have arthritis; maybe something else.
