The gender of my alexandrine parakeet isn't defined yet. Its been three months that it is with me. Its age is approximately 6 months by now. It was keeping really well until one day it hurt its leg real bad. It got worse on may 5, 2011. I took it to a vet and he said that its a paralysis attack. It has been under medication since then, but still ain't recovering good. Also in a day it leans down in its cage for about 2 hours or more sometime. What do i do please help.

You have to find an AVIAN VET IMMEDIATELY and take your bird there to be properly diagnosed and treated. Regular dog, cat, cow, horse vets are not licensed or trained in the care of birds and will make incorrect diagnosis and treat with incorrect medicines.

There is a link on this site for help in finding Avian Vet. Your bird will die unless you get it the medical help it needs because your vet's diagnosis is way too general and medicines are probably wrong as well.

Good luck in finding Avian Vet.
