As much as I love my bird and allow it out of the cage, I always put her back in if I'm not going to be home. You never know what they're going to do when you're not there. They could get frightened and fly and crash into a window and get injured or die. Or they could drop to the floor and hurt their foot or get into something in another room that could be poisonous. Please make sure you put your bird back in the cage when you leave the house.

No, you can not give a pain killer unless your avian vet has examined the bird and prescribed exactly what your bird needs according to the weight of your bird.

It is possible your bird may have just bruised it's foot, but it is also possible it broke something. You should Find an Avian Vet to examine your bird if it does not show improvement tomorrow. Dr B can not help, because he can not examine your bird.
