Becoming quiet is what a sick bird will do not to draw attention to itself. It is instinctual behavior. Please take your quaker to a vet. Quakers also should not be given any vitamins not prescribed by a vet.

Thats one of the first signs of being sick. Has his appetite changed? does his poop look different? Please get him to the vet.

My umbrella cockatoo does the same thing off and on and I finally realized that when he gets a little cold he sorta stays quiet, maybe your little one needs a heat light. When I turn on mine for my too he seems to cheer up. Just a thought. If his poop is normal I'd just watch him but if he keeps it up I'd take him to a avian vet just to be realy sure. It's better to be safe. Have you got him on any vitamins or drops? Good luck and I'm sure your little guy will be ok, good luck
