Nanday conure new sleeping habits

Our nanday conure recently lost his friend a parakeet, not same cage but same room. Now the conure does not like to sleep on perch but roams the bottom of the cage at night and clings on to a toy to sleep. Is this normal?

New sleeping habits after bird friend died

I am sorry for your loss. It is potentially normal for your bird to be missing the other bird and acting a bit different. My concern is why the other bird died. If it is possible that the other bird died from something contagious, then the new behavior could be the first sign of illness.

You might want to Find an Avian Vet to examine your bird to make sure it is healthy.
