by Cat
(Lake Havasu AZ)

my 15 yr old green cheeked conure recently started throwing most of his food out right after i fill up his feed bowl. he then climbs into the feed bowl and makes himself comfortable, swinging his head back and forth. why is my bird doing this?

thank you for your time,
Cat

Bird throwing up food
by: Tracie

Throwing up food is not a nesting behavior in birds. Only sick birds throw up their food. Please get your bird to an avian vet right away. Dr B can not help, because he can not examine your bird.

Find an Avian Vet

Maybe it lays in the bowl, so it can eat? Maybe laying down is easier than trying to balance on a perch?
