New Bird scared

We have a new bird, the day we brought him home it seemed ok and was chirping. The next two days it seemed shy and scared, but on day 3 it was chirping and seemed excited to see us. Today it is back to acting scared. Is this normal behavior? It is eating and drinking its water, but seems really scared.
Thanks

New bird a little shy
by: Tracie

Yes, this is normal. There are so many new things, people etc. to get used to. Spend time just sitting next to the cage talking to the bird, get family members to do the same.

Mainly, don't push the bird past what it is comfortable with, so it will learn to trust all of you.
