Wonderful Story!
by: Linda

What a wonderful story and thank you so much for sharing with us. You are a shining example of how everyone needs to be with their birds. Love is NOT enough as you have seen. It takes real commitment to have a well-trained happy bird who lives in a happy home. Birds are highly intelligent and WILL rule the roost so to speak if their humans are not on their toes. They have mental and emotional development of a 4-5 year old human child, and we all know how they will manipulate people. What looks SO darn cute when the baby parrots first come to our homes changes to looking a lot like a Sy Fy monster if given free reign! So the parrots are stuck in that place all their lives, and we have to always take this into consideration when working with them on any level. I believe "Short Attention Span Theater" just about covers it, so you are doing exactly right with the short training sessions.

Keep up the good work, and your letter WILL help others to keep working with their birds and not even dream of giving up. The work is hard and the rewards are many and priceless!!!
