Normal Budgie Behavior???

My budgie has been acting really, really strange lately. He has been scratching his face with his foot a LOT! Not just once or twice, I mean like 20 times! He has been rubbing his face on his perches a LOT too. He has also been doing this weird thing with his mouth. I thought he was yawning, but when he would open his mouth, it would look like he was licking the roof of his beak with his tongue. He is doing this constantly.

Before my budgie started doing this, I noticed that a week or two ago, he would do another weird thing with his mouth. It sounded like he was crunching on a seed or something, but there was NO seed in his mouth. He would sort of shuffle his beak around, and sometimes his upper beak would go into his lower beak. It kind of looked like there was something in his mouth.

He stopped doing that, so I decided not to worry about that. Now down to the bottom line. Is he sick? Does he have something in his mouth that is bothering him? Thank you!

Perhaps

Well, I have had many budgies before and some of this is normal. The beak grinding I've seen with all of them, though the itching could be the cause of mites, infection or something like these, so I do suggest going to a vet.

Not normal bird behavior

I suggest you Find an Avian Vet to examine your bird right away. It could have an infection.
