Over breeding.

Good day,

We are from SA. My sister got a Chattering Lory called Angel. The problem is that Angel is laying 2-3 eggs a month. This is worring as the normal clutch are around 2-3 eggs per nest/breed.

We did try putting her with a male - but Angel was not interested. What can we do as this does not stop and has been going on for the last 2 years non-stop.

The week-ends egg was also lager than normal.

Please advise!!!!!! As we do not know what to do, to stop the poor girl from laying eggs that is not fertilized.

Many thanks

Dr B has addressed this in an article on our Parrot Training page called Chronic Egg Laying that you can read. I hope this helps.
