Papaya - My SunConure

by Linda M Hueftlein

pretty Papaya - Sun Conure

pretty Papaya - Sun Conure

My husband and I were in PetsMart one Sunday to get dog and cat food, when we saw in the cage the most breathtaking little bird. Knowing ZERO about birds, we were asking questions of one of the associates. The whole rest of the day was spent researching and saying "I want that bird...".

Well, we went back the next day and spoke w/the Avian manager and found out that she was 15 months old and been there since she was 5 months old. Long story short, we have Papaya. I've been working with her and she is really starting to come around. My husband adores her, and she him. She even talks to us in her little birdy language, but we know what she's saying by the tones and inflections.

Pretty Sun Conure too
by: Vickie

These birds are so pretty, but everyone tells me they are too noisy and scream at everyone. You didn't mention this, so maybe not all sun conures are really loud?

Thanks for sharing this story too!

Papaya - My SunConure

Hey Girl, just got through with a letter to you!!! Your birds are just gorgeous, and follow my instructions for Paco and Mia with Papaya as well. All three need to be eating the organic pellets, fruit and veggies only a few times a week, no almonds, peanuts or any other high fat nuts, and no people food no matter what it may be or how much they like it. Also NO LATE NIGHT SNACKS as birds have to be hungry to want to eat and like the children they will ALWAYS be, they have to be taught how to eat the right foods in the right quantities.

Your little birdy family is a treasure, and I'd love to see you and them happy for many, many long years to come, so get them all to the vet as most of the birds from the chain stores are already harboring some kind of infection. I'm glad they spent some time with you as most of them usually do very little education in the stores. You must have a better PetSmart than most.

Anyway, it is a real pleasure to talk with someone as caring and loving as you are to your birds. Get them into a new feeding regiment, to an Avian vet once a year for a checkup, and you'll begin to see ALL the beauty inside start to come out. You are very blessed and hope you are fully aware of that.

Love,
Linda
