Parakeet acting drunk

by Estephanie

This is all he does and wobble around and fly drunk

This is all he does and wobble around and fly drunk

I got my parakeets 2 days ago a boy and a girl the first day they were scared but they would not eat. The second day which is today the male was singing and very lively but later in the day the female was picking on him. when it was time to sleep I covered them but heard a strange noise, the male which is there shy one was flying everywhere and sadly acting lifeless and drunk.

The female I've seen eat but not the male she tends to be more territorial in a way I got them two bowls of food and made a divider with paper to separate them because I got scared and now ask the male does is sleep on the bottom of the cage.
One thing I noticed is that the day I got then they both had dry poop stuck on their butts but the male had more, is he sick? What should I do?

Sick parakeets
by: Tracie

You either need to Find an Avian Vet right away to examine and treat your birds, or return them from where they came.

After you do either of the above, thoroughly clean the cage, toys, perches etc. with a pet safe cleanser like Pet Focus that will kill anything these sick birds brought into your home.
