Parakeet feeding ages 4-5 months

Very glad you asked your question. Your bird needs to be eating 80-85% organic pelleted diet. The best one here is Harrison's, and you'd get the smaller grind for your Budgie.

The reason for organic pellets is that they have no preservatives, dyes, sugar or other dangerous chemicals. Harrisons provides a 100% high quality diet to keep your bird in optimum health for its lifetime.

If your bird is already eating an all seed diet, here is a link about how to go about changing to the organic pellets. Under that is some general information about feeding Budgies you may find interesting:

Before making any dietary changes, make sure your bird is healthy and this is accomplished by having him examined by an Avian Vet in your driving area. We suggest yearly visits to Avian Vet to make sure all is well as for infections or other physical issues. Since birds hide their illnesses until they are too sick to stand up, these visits can catch many problems before they become serious. Feeding a high quality diet will go a long way in keeping your bird healthy and will cut down or out avian vet visits for illness.

Thank You for writing and for wanting to feed your little bird the best food. Keep in touch,

Linda
