Parakeet has growth on top of foot

my parakeet is over 8 years old, and recently (for about the last 3 weeks) he's been unable to get down to the bottom of his cage and back up.
He seems to have a growth on the top of his left foot, and he's had diareaha constantly. Doesn't tweet anymore, and just kind of hangs out in one of his seed bowls. I've been dropping millet seed pieces and dry greens through the bars of his cage along with gravel, grit and charcoal so as not to frighten him.

I guess I feel like he's on his last legs (so to speak) and I'm trying to make his comfortable in his last days.

Is there anything you would recommend me do for him?

Your bird is critically ill, and should have already been taken into see an Avian Vet in your driving area.

Please make an appointment as quickly as you can and get him in there. He has a very bad infection, plus whatever is wrong with the foot.Birds do not get over infections without treatment from an Avian Vet, so please do not delay any longer as he will die if left untreated.

Thanks for writing,
Linda
