Parakeet's wing

My parakeet is acting strange. He always is stretching out his wings, but today I noticed that he is lifting his right wing away from his body, and it shakes a little. When he stretches both of his wings the right side (the one that he is lifting away from his body) is lifted higher than the left side (that appears normal).

He is still singing, acting the same, etc. He wont let me examine his wing though. What is going on? I had his wings last clipped a month and a half ago, he has had 2 long feathers that extend out from both wings, but one side is gone today.

Your bird is acting like new feathers are growing in on his wings. Blood feathers or new feathers are a little bit uncomfortable and will cause some trembling.

You should have him seen by an avian veterinarian to be sure that it is not more serious. Your bird should have annual check ups, anyway, so if it has been more that a year since he has been in, then it is time. Don’t for get to ask for your polyomavirus vaccination, too.
