Ring Neck Parrot - Leg Hurt
by: Anonymous

My ring neck parrot hurt her leg on Saturday evening. Trying to fly out the cage. We keep it open. And we also cut her wing. So that she can't fly away. But now she got hurt. She only uses on leg. I can touch her hurt leg. She doesn't mind. She keeps her leg close to her body. Won't stand on it or anything. But what i want to know is it broken or sprand? Please assist me.

Editor's Note: You need to take your bird to an avian vet ASAP. You need to post your question as a new question under Parrot Questions in the future so that others will be able to help you. You posted your question as answer to another person's question.

Parakeet hurt leg
by: Tracie

Hello Hunter,

Birds will climb around in their cage even when their wings are not clipped. You need to take your bird to an avian vet for the leg first of all and also to make sure there is not something else wrong that he would fall when climbing around.
