my 7 month old parrolet has recently been lifting his right foot went he sits..at first we thought it was a cute trick but this morning when i took off his cage cover he was limping and had trouble climbing. i took him out and it was noticeable that he resisted putting pressure on said foot. i dont think it's broken, maybe sprained but im no expert on birds. this is my first time ever owning a bird and im not sure what to do :C
Dr B can not help, because he can't examine your bird in person. This could be an injury, but it could be something internally wrong that is causing this too. Sometimes a tumor will press on a nerve and it is possible it has fractured a bone.
We had a parrotlet with fatty liver disease, from eating an all seed diet before I knew about Harrison's pellets, and it limped from a tumor we couldn't see.
