Never, ever use oil on a parrot anywhere on its body. The oil works its way throughout the parrot's body and will kill the bird from suffocation. Every time it scratches or grooms itself, it is putting more oil on its skin.

Your bird HAS to be examined right away by an Avian Vet ONLY. Do this now. Never use home remedies because you don't know what is wrong so how can you treat it.

Find an Avian Vet
The wooden dowel perches that come with cages cause a multitude of problems with bird's feet and legs. Replace them with safe wood natural wood braches for your bird's size feet.

Right now, get to the Avian Vet as quickly as you can because if you put much oil on feet, the oil is going all over your bird. Avian Vet will examine bird and give it a bath to get the oil off it's skin. If you wait on this, you will have a dead bird. The only kind of oil you can use with care is vitamin E gel caps that have been diluted with clean water. Even then, you have to be careful not to get it all over bird. Always be sure to add only a few drops of oil to a plant sprayer half filled with warm water. I recommend you don't use ANY oil of any kind on your bird. This would be the safest way to not lose your bird to suffocation.
