Parrottlet losing feathers

Our pacific green parottlet is losins its feathers around its eyes and back why is this? We are just new to the bird world is this something to be concerned about?

Yes, it is something to be concerned about. Dr B suggests a visit to an avian vet for an exam. It could be a disease, it could be an internal infection or it could be due to it's diet.

If your bird is eating color pellets, then it could be an allergy or other health issue. Make sure your bird is eating pellets, first of all, and then make sure they are high quality, no sugar, like Harrison's organic pellets. Roudybush is good too.

You may already know about pellets, but many people do not even know about pellets, so I just thought I would mention them. I never had a budgie live for more than a couple of years, until I discovered Harrison's pellets. Our budgies are alive and healthy and 8 years old so far. Zupreem and Lefeber have a history of causing health problems, so avoid them.
