I know I'm not supposed to give my birds peanuts in the shell but should the unshelled peanuts be raw or roasted?

Peanuts in the shell for birds
by: Tracie

Even parrot food companies sell peanuts in the shell for parrots, so don't panic if you have been feeding your parrot peanuts.

Peanuts have a reputation of harboring mold and they are also fattening. Also, many parrots are allergic to peanuts and will get itchy and sometimes pluck their feathers. Because of these factors, many people do not feed their parrots peanuts.
