Cockatoos are extremely amount of work and need ALOT of attention. If they do not get the attention they will scream or even pluck their feathers in depression. I have a Jenday conure and love him. Maybe you should get a conure, but if you really think you can handle a cockatoo then look for one that someone is selling.

You need to do your research on Cockatoos, they are a very loud bird. They need lots of attention and if you don't give it to them they scream. Please do not go to a pet store or a breeder, there are so many birds in sanctuaries, look in your area for bird rescues, I have gotten all my birds from rescues, I have 5 birds Timneh African Gray a Blue and Gold Macaw a Senegal and 2 lovebirds. Please please! checkout rescues and sanctuaries.

The petsmart in my home town does not sell cockatoos. In my area from a breeder they cost around 1500.00 to 2000.00.
