Pink feathers

by Nancy
(Conyers, GA, USA)

My older (19 yrs) Cockatiel's white wing feathers just turned pink. He seems to have more trouble with his footing too, and gets in the corner of his cage often. He still eats well. The pink is alarming & I think his feet feel warm. He has no new toys or pink anything.
I just noticed one of his toes is bleeding right beside the claw. Could he have hurt himself flailing about in the night? (If so, iI never heard him.) and there's a little pink around his beak.

Birds feathers pink
by: Tracie

It is possible the blood has stained the feathers, I don't know and don't think anyone can tell over the Internet.

Please Find an Avian Vet to examine your bird, especially since it has an injury. You need to make sure it doesn't get infected and make sure there isn't something causing the bird to bite it's foot or something.
