please help cockatoo chewing off her toe nails

I have recently bought a cockatoo. We have had her for about 8 days now. She is so lovely no aggression at all. Since i have had her she has been chewing on her feet tonight she chewed off her toe nail and bleeding all over the place. I have called the vet and they told me to cover the open wound in flour to stop it from bleeding and then they said that she might have dry skin so i bought a humd.

she is still chewing on the same foot if i hold her she stops. I live in ND and none of the vets around here deal with big birds like her. i have also noticed that she is losing some of her feathers underneather he wings. I did some resource before i got her and i never knew anything about this. please help i love her so much and i do not want her getting sick or leaving me. thanks Traci
