Poo sticking to tail feathers

Hi, I recently came to acquire a baby Galah after rescuing it from the street yesterday.

After taking it home and taking care of it it seems to be doing quite well until this afternoon. I came out and saw that it had eaten some seed and that it had droppings stuck on it's tail feathers on the bottom side. I cleaned them all off and cleaned the bird up a bit.

Could someone please shed some light on this, whether it be something I need to take it to the vet for, just because it was in shock, or a change to its diet or something like that.

The bird seems to be in good health otherwise. It is very placid and spends a lot of the time sleeping or preening.

Any insight into this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Poo sticking to vent

It is very possible the bird is sick, and the only way to know is by taking the bird to an avian vet for an exam. Also, if you have other birds you could be bringing a disease to the rest of your flock.

Please use this Find an Avian Vet link to find an avian vet for your bird so it can be examined to determine what is wrong and what the potential treatment might be.
