Princess Parrot laying eggs on ground

Hi, Our Princess Parrot has laid 9 eggs on the ground. Is this amount they normally lay as most posts i have read say they lay 4-6 eggs?
Also we purchased a nest box today and are wondering do we move the eggs to the nesting box or just leave them on the ground or take them out of the cage? She hasnt been sitting on any of the eggs.
We have asked an employee from a bird store and they told us to put plastic gloves on and put the eggs in the nesting box? Just wanted to know if this information would be correct.
Thank you for your time.

Warm Regards Michelle

Princess Parrot laying eggs on ground

In the end she kept sitting on the eggs and decided its not right to remove them from her. We just let her be and guess what, one of her eggs hatched. We were over the moon. Its beautiful. Alot of people told us the eggs wouldnt hatch because of the temperature on the ground but we didnt give up on her and look what happened. Very happy.

Would you still recommend not putting the nesting box in even though she has sat on eggs earlier on, just not this batch?

Editor's note: A nesting box will only encourage her to lay eggs.

Yes, we thought removing the eggs would be a better idea too. Thank you for your help.

Parrot layed eggs and not sitting
by: Tracie

I suggest you do NOT put in a nesting box and remove the eggs since she is not interested in sitting on them.
